No settlement can be made until the completed detailed investigation has been finished and all medical information has been gathered together, including medical bills, medical reports, and other evidence supporting the claim. In some cases, it is impossible to obtain medical information because the client is still under treatment and the doctor cannot give an opinion about the client's injuries until treatment has been completed.

A primary rule I follow is that no case is settled until the exact nature of the client's medical condition has been determined by the client's doctor. If I were to settle a case where the doctor cannot give a definite opinion, the client would not receive full value for his or her case. One of the most difficult requests we make of our clients is patience since there is always necessary delay in processing the case.
