Do's & Don'ts

Do not discuss the case with anyone other than members of this office, our investigators, or other persons with whom we have authorized you to discuss your case.

Consult us before, not after, you do something that might affect your case, including changing of doctors.

Sign nothing dealing with your claim until you have received our instructions or approval.

Do not discuss your claim with your own insurance company adjuster, but advise him that you would be pleased to give him a statement in our office when one of us can be present.

Make sure that your doctor is aware of all of your symptoms so that he may write them into his medical record which can be produced in court or submitted to the insurance company at a later time.

Follow your doctor's instructions and do not disobey his instructions.

Send us copies of all bills that you receive as a result of your claim (whether paid or not).please indicate, on a separate piece of paper, whether you have paid them.

Obtain a receipt or bill for all drugs or medical appliances purchased by you, and mail such receipt or bill to this office.

Notify us at once of any changes in employment, raises or reductions in salary, or loss of job. Similarly, if you are required to miss any work due to your injuries, keep our office informed of all work missed and dates that you return to work.

If you are going out of town for more than one week, please advise our office of when you will return and how you might be reached while away.

Keep a record of all medical treatment received by you, doctors that you have seen, and all instructions that the doctors have given to you.

Keep a record of all expenses incurred as a result of the accident, including persons that you have to employ to perform services for you, or any other expenses you feel were incurred as result of the accident.

If you are self-employed, keep a record of all the times that you are unable to work or perform your duties, and discuss with us how we might best demonstrate your loss of profits as a result of your inability to perform your work.

If you have Blue Cross, Blue Shield, medical pay coverage, or any kind of medical insurance, provide our legal assistant with a copy of all completed forms that you submit to your insurance company.

Notify us immediately if you hear anything that you feel may affect your case. Once again, while you may expect long periods where there is relatively little activity on your case, you must also feel free to contact this office at any time.

When you have questions and Mr. Erisman is unavailable to answer them, ask to speak with his secretary, Linda DeCarlo , She may be able to answer your questions and if not, she will relate the specific nature of your problem to Mr. Erisman
